Golfregels.appPrivacy policy
In short: Golfregels works without an account, login or profile; you use the app anonymously. Only if you join the weekly quiz leaderboard do you pick a player name, and optionally an email address to be eligible for prizes.
1. About this policy
This privacy policy explains how the Golfregels iOS app (the app) handles information. The app is offered by the developer of Golfregels. By using the app you agree to this policy.
2. What data we collect
The app does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information. No registration is required to use the app. We use a few external services that process technical data to a limited extent:
- AI Coach (Anthropic Claude): when you ask the AI Coach a question, only the text of your question (and a photo, if you attach one) is sent to Anthropic through our own secured server to generate an answer. No name, location or other personal data is included. Your question is not used to train AI models and is not linked to your identity. We store the question and answer anonymously, without an account ID, to improve the app, for example for frequently asked questions. The app asks for your consent before you use the AI Coach for the first time.
- In-app purchases (Apple and Google Play): Premium purchases are handled entirely by Apple (on iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (on Android). We only receive an anonymised confirmation that a purchase was made. Your payment details never reach us.
- Progress sync: your course progress and exam results are stored under an anonymous, random account ID on our server (Supabase, EU) so your progress is preserved. This ID cannot be traced back to you as a person.
- Weekly quiz and leaderboard: if you play the weekly quiz, we store your scores and play time under the same anonymous account ID. To appear on the leaderboard you choose a player name, which is visible to other players. Optionally you can leave an email address, solely so we can reach you if you win a prize. The address is never visible to others, is not used for newsletters or marketing, and you can delete it in the app at any time.
3. Consent for the AI Coach
Before you use the AI Coach for the first time, the app shows a notice explaining what data is shared (the text of your question and an optional photo), with whom (Anthropic) and why (to generate an answer). Your question is only sent after you agree. You can withdraw consent at any time via Account and keep using all other features of the app.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell data to third parties.
- We do not show ads and do not use advertising trackers.
- We do not link social media accounts.
- We have no access to your location, contacts or microphone. The camera is only used when you take a photo for the AI Coach yourself.
- We do not build a personal profile based on your usage.
5. Data that stays on your device
Your preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, this data is automatically erased.
6. Children
The app is suitable for all ages and contains no content unsuitable for children. Because we do not collect personal data, we meet the requirements for apps for minors (including the GDPR and COPPA).
7. Your rights under the GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access the data processed about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we do not store personal data about you, no action is needed in practice. If you have questions anyway, we take them seriously.
8. Security
All communication between the app and external services is encrypted via HTTPS.
Statistics on this website
golfregels.app and the app use Google Analytics to measure usage anonymously, configured privacy-friendly: no advertising signals and no personalised ads. In the app this happens without an account ID and without personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. For important changes we show a notice in the app.
