Penalty area
Any body of water on the course is a penalty area, even if it isn't marked. The Committee can also designate other areas, such as woods, rocks or desert. Markings are yellow or red. If your ball is in one, you may play it as it lies or take relief with one penalty stroke (Rule 17).
