The course
The course is the entire area where golf is played, within the boundaries set (for example by the golf club or the committee running the competition). These boundaries can be marked by visible lines, stakes or natural objects, for instance. The course consists of five defined areas: the general area (this is the largest part of the course, such as the fairway and the rough), the teeing area, the penalty areas, the bunkers and the putting green.
