Slope Rating
The Slope Rating is a number between 55 and 155 that indicates the relative difficulty of a golf course for golfers with an average handicap (the 'bogey golfer'), compared to top players (the 'scratch golfer'). The higher this number, the more handicap strokes a golfer with a higher handicap receives through the World Handicap System (WHS) to make the course fairer. Unlike the Course Rating, which measures the course difficulty for the scratch golfer, the Slope Rating expresses how that difficulty increases for the average player.
